Electrical Program Overview
InterCoast Colleges’ Electrical Training Program is approved by the California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR). Students who enroll must apply for an Electrical Trainee (ET) Card, which allows them to accumulate required on-the-job hours under a licensed electrician.
The program includes 900 clock hours and can typically be completed in less than a year, depending on the individual student’s schedule and commitment.
⚠️ Please note: InterCoast does not offer electrical licenses. However, graduates who complete the program may be eligible to sit for the California Journeyman Electrician Exam after completing the necessary work hours.
Training Structure
The program is designed to blend classroom theory with hands-on learning experiences. Students gain exposure to a range of electrical applications, helping them build a solid foundation in the field.
Topics Covered Include:
• National Electrical Code (NEC) and OSHA Standards
• Residential and Commercial Wiring
• Conduit Bending and Blueprint Reading
