Vocational Programs Offered at InterCoast Rancho Cordova
✅ Electrical Training Program
Approved by the California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR), this 900-hour program teaches essential skills in electrical wiring, safety standards, conduit bending, and code compliance. Students must apply for an Electrical Trainee (ET) Card to gain legal work experience under a licensed electrician in California while working toward the 8,000-hour requirement for the Journeyman Exam.
✅ HVAC Technician
Train for work in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration. Students receive hands-on instruction in diagnosing, installing, and repairing systems. The program includes preparation for the EPA Section 608 certification, which may be required by employers.
✅ Medical Assistant
This program prepares students for both clinical and front-office responsibilities in medical settings. Training includes patient care procedures such as EKGs, injections, and vital signs, along with administrative tasks like scheduling and charting. An externship opportunity may be available to apply skills in a healthcare facility.
✅ Pharmacy Technician
Students are trained in prescription processing, inventory systems, and patient communication. This program supports students in preparing to apply for licensure with the California State Board of Pharmacy, which requires a background check, Live Scan, and submission of official documentation.
✅ Alcohol and Drug Counseling Studies (Certificate Program)
This program focuses on developing the core skills needed for entry-level roles in substance use disorder treatment. Students will study counseling ethics, relapse prevention, group facilitation, and client documentation. Graduates may qualify to register with CCAPP, but must complete additional supervised hours to pursue certification.
✅ Associate of Applied Science Degree – Substance Use Disorder Counseling
This degree-level program expands on the certificate curriculum with advanced coursework in case management, documentation, psychology, and professional conduct. Students may use this program to pursue certification with CCAPP, CAADE, or CADTP, depending on each agency’s requirements.
