Training Programs Available at InterCoast Riverside

✅ Electrical Training Program

Approved by the California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR), this 900-hour program teaches essential skills in residential/commercial wiring, conduit bending, code compliance, and safety. Students apply for an Electrical Trainee (ET) Card, which allows them to work under a licensed electrician while earning the required hours to qualify for the California Journeyman Exam.

✅ HVAC Technician

This hands-on program prepares students for work in heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration systems. Students learn system installation, maintenance, and diagnostics. EPA Section 608 certification prep is included.

✅ Alcohol and Drug Counseling Studies (Certificate Program)

This program focuses on the core skills required to support individuals in recovery from substance use disorders. Students learn treatment planning, group facilitation, counseling techniques, and documentation practices. Graduates may be eligible to register with CCAPP or other recognized agencies, though certification requires additional supervised work hours.

✅ Associate of Applied Science Degree – Substance Use Disorder Counseling

This degree builds on the certificate with more advanced coursework in behavioral health, case management, documentation, and psychology. It may support students in pursuing certification through CCAPP, CAADE, or CADTP (with additional supervised field experience as required by the certifying agency).

I started the AOD program Oct 2014 and went on to get my Associates also through Intercoast. I had a great experience with my instructor Jose Ochoa and Joe Aragon. The whole experience has been great. I have been in the field since I attended school there and im really grateful to them for their guidance and teachings. Marylin and Katie were a huge part of my experience enrolling. I recently past couple years have had to contact corporate for financial purposes. They have been amazing. Cynthia Vega, Student Accounts Manager with corporate has been such a great help and thorough and very pleasant each time we spoke. If she is unsure of something she refers to her colleagues. I am just pleased with the services I received and encourage anyone to go to Intercoast.

The electrical program is a lot more affordable than most of the other programs and schools in the area of Southern California they also work with WIOA/Workforce development and FASFA to get you a great discount highly recommend you to look into that! Jose Acosta the electrical training instructor is very knowledgeable and has many years of experience in this field! He is very helpful with NEC literature and hands on training! He works with you at your own pace and is there to guide you every step of the way! I would definitely recommend this program to everyone!
