FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Anaheim, CA)—InterCoast Colleges, a network of colleges focused on preparing students for real-world careers, recently announced details of their annual Recovery Happens event. On a mission to educate the community about the dangers of substance use and abuse, the college-wide event will take place on September 22nd, 2018 from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M. on all campuses, including Anaheim, Riverside, and West Covina, Fairfield, and Rancho Cordova. Featuring guest speakers, raffles, and more, Recovery Happens is free and open to the general public as well as to instructors, alumni, current students, and family members.
“We could not be more excited about hosting Recovery Happens this year,” said Dr. Geeta Brown of InterCoast Colleges. “With substance abuse seemingly at an all-time high all across our nation, we need to continue to raise awareness and offer viable solutions to help people combat the problem. This is the very reason we’ve hosted the Recovery Happens event on all of our InterCoast campuses for the last ten years. We want to be a part of that solution and let our communities know that we’re standing with them.”
Guest speakers at the Celebrate Recovery event will talk with attendees about the serious issues surrounding substance use and abuse and discuss recovery program options. In addition to substance abuse education, the event will also give attendees an opportunity to learn more about all that each InterCoast College campus and its surrounding community has to offer. Celebrate Recovery will feature a meet and greet with campus instructors as well as exhibitor tables with employers.
Brown went on to say, “Our team here at InterCoast Colleges believes wholeheartedly in the people who make up the communities we serve. We know substance abuse can be a tough subject to tackle, and we want to be a catalyst in starting meaningful conversations and providing information on referrals. We look forward to seeing all the ways our communities will be positively impacted by Recovery Happens as we host it again this year.”
