LICENSED PRACTICAL/ VOCATIONAL NURSING
Program Description
This 51.0 Semester Credit Hour (1530 clock hours) program requires 51 weeks of training (days), and is designed for those students who desire knowledge and skills for employment as a Licensed Practical/ Vocational Nurse. The program includes 954 hours of training in both the nursing laboratory and supervised clinical experiences in medical facilities.
Program Objectives
This program is designed to provide students with an extensive and comprehensive training in anatomy and physiology and the clinical and practical aspects involved in direct patient care. In addition, students will be learning CPR, as well as the legal, professional and specialty areas of LPN practice. Students will develop ‘Hands On’ skills needed for direct care of the patient in various settings. Including Hospital, Nursing Home, Hospice, Rehabilitation, and Home Health care, etc.
Occupational Objectives
After applying for and passing the State Practical Nursing Licensure Exam (NCLEX-PN) graduates will be qualified for entry level positions in home health care, doctor's offices, clinics, nursing homes, hospitals, and many other health care facilities. |
